Still Fighting Wal-Mart

We’re still fighting Wal-Mart!  We won the first tiny battle but this fight is far from over. 

The commission set a new DRC meeting for Dec 12 at 9:30.  I know that most of us work during the day, but they aren’t budging with just a few of us sending requests for a change.  I urge you to call, write, go see your commissioner Anne Hildebrand or Development Review Manager Cindy Jolly and Biphin Pirekh County Engineer or County Administrator John Gallagher.  Ask for a later time.  Explain that the reason for the appeal...
 
Concerning Wal-Mart

Just in case some of the residents of Colonial Hills don't know, Wal-Mart is trying to build a store on the corner of Rt 54 and Grand Blvd. Many of us do not want it in that location for a few simple reasons.

The groudhog didn't see his shadow, so spring is just around the corner. Our blueberry pancake breakfast went well, but we would like to have more patrons.

We still need more support for our roof and air conditioning replacement and other needed items. Please consider making a tax-deductible donation.

Time flies by. Here it is, March already and hopefully the weather suits everyone better. It has been a strange winter all ov er the country and world for that matter. Considering other parts of the country, we did well. There are some things comming up before our winter snowbirds go north. Everyone look over the calendar and the back page for dates.

Lately, I've had a chance to walk through a lot of our subdivision and drive through where I didn't walk. There are a few things I've noticed. First off, most of the homes in Colonial Hills look decent. We hope to see those that don't, get cleaned up before the code people get involved. This can be a costly experience. Now getting to some other things.
