Just in case some of the residents of Colonial Hills don't know, Wal-Mart is trying to build a store on the corner of Rt 54 and Grand Blvd. Many of us do not want it in that location for a few simple reasons.

What will 4 cents buy you???????
.... not a candy bar .... not a small soda .... not a postage stamp .... probably nothing except a membership for a day in the Colonial Hills Civic Association. And yet only 176 of the 2200 people in Colonial Hills will spend that amount to guard the safety of their families and the value of their property. Even now as we are facing traffic and safety problems if Wal-Mart becomes part of our community, we are hearing a lot of complaining, a lot of griping, a lot of the worries of our residents, but we aren't hearing a rallying cry to become a strong presence in Colonial Hills.

A well attended memorial service was held at Michels & Lundquist Funeral Home on September 1st. Walter passed away earlier that week after a brief illness.
