I apologize for missing October meeting, and November as well, due to my injury & hospitalization. But I do wish you all a Merry Christmas and a festive New Year. I also want to thank you for your prayers, cards and visits. Many things have happened at this club. We have two new maintenance people who have taken over setups and lawn care as well as cleaning. When you pass the clubhouse look at the new appearance. Should you be in the area and the clubhouse is open, look at our bathroom changes as well as the over all appearance of the... ...interior of the building. Many good things are happening but we need members and money. We always have a membership drive this time of year. We have started a roof and air conditioning fund and the goal is $30,000.00. You do not need to be a member to help the club but just a concerned person who may need a tax write-off. Also during the coming year I would like to see more new faces as members and people willing to help with our many activities.Everyone is welcome and no prejudice regarding race, religion sexual orientation etc is tolerated. All people are welcome. Please consider joining and helping so we have an even better Colonial Hills and surrounding area. The last concern of mine is to please help in the fight to not have Wal-Mart build at SR54 and Grand Blvd. We do need this (or any) super store at this location. The resulting traffic and wear on our roads will be terrible and this can cost us all money. Please consider the harm that could result as well as the possibility of a child getting hurt or, God forbid, killed because of the increased traffic.
