We will start off by wishing everyone a HAPPY NEW YEAR and we hope you had a joyous Christmas as well.

The year 2007 starts with a new vice president and some changes on the board. As for myself, I'm very happy to see Shirley Pike take over as Vice President. With both Earl and myself having some ongoing medical problems it's good to have a healthy person to take over running the club if necessary. I came to the conclusion I should step down last spring/summer when Earl and I were only 5 rooms apart at Community Hospital. I am also happy to see Don Alexander come on the board.

Our treasurer, June Melton is in Helen Ellis Hospital as I write this. She fell and broke a hip. Hopefully, she will be out and about very soon. Meanwhile, I ask your patience when other folks are filling in. Things will get done and done properly. It just might take a little longer. We will still try to take care of your club and neighborhood problems including code violations. You will see information regarding two of our most often complaints in this issue. These are the Pasco County code regulations.

As noted elsewhere it is time to pay dues for 2007 if you have not done so. We also urge you to pe a booster. For a measly $5 you can see your name in print for all of 2007. But of more importance you are helping our association. We have some hefty expences facing us in the near future. We need a new roof and we hope we can nurse another summer's cooling out of the air conditioners. There is a special fund that takes donations for this. Unlike your dues, contributions to this fund are tax-deductible item for people who itemize their taxes.

Bingo continues to be a very popular pastime for a growing number of participants. We still can accommodate more people so why not give it a try on any Thursday. Also, if you are looking for a cheap night out for a really great meal come to the spaghetti dinners. The same is true if you want to east a breakfast on the cheap. Come for a treat at the pancake breakfasts. As an extra added attraction the ladies have a really great botique at the breakfasts and dinners.

Last but not least the soup and sandwich card parties are back after taking a break in busy December. Again a good deal for only $5. We understand that there will also be a fashion show at the February card party. We will have the details this next month. Once more the ladies are looking for help in putting these card parties on. See the article by Phyllis Tokar.

Don Hayden,
Vice President
