Time flies by. Here it is, March already and hopefully the weather suits everyone better. It has been a strange winter all ov er the country and world for that matter. Considering other parts of the country, we did well. There are some things comming up before our winter snowbirds go north. Everyone look over the calendar and the back page for dates. Lately, I've had a chance to walk through a lot of our subdivision and drive through where I didn't walk. There are a few things I've noticed. First off, most of the homes in Colonial Hills look decent. We hope to see those that don't, get cleaned up before the code people get involved. This can be a costly experience. Now getting to some other things. I see that this is now a community that is far different from what it was only 10 to 15 years ago. It was a community of older retired people for the most part. That has changed. Now we have a mid of all ages and many diverse backgrounds. This is beneficial to our community. It is gratifying to see adults and kids of all ages and ethnic groups playing together and going to and from school together. One thing I have not seen is any racial intolerance or bigotry. This says a lot of positive things for the nearly 2,000 families living here. However there is one thing I do not see. I do not see very many people at association meetings and functions. If there is a feeling that only us retired people are welcome and wanted at the meetings and events, nothing could be farther from the truth. Our association is for everyone and we really want more and need all of you to come to the meetings and events. Please let the officers and board know what activities you'd like to have and what events you'd like to see us offer. It is extreamly discouraging to get speakers such as Senator Fasano and have a small turnout of mostly older people. So what I, and the rest of the officers and board what is a bigger turnout and people of all ages and backgrouns to come out and get involved. You'll find that you will be welcomed with open arms. Even your friends from outside Colonial Hills are welcome to come and join us. Associate Membership is available to non-residents of our community at the same $15.00 cost. We have a lot to offer, come on out and see for yourself.
PLEASE NOT
