Here it is April and we are already on Daylight Savings Time and it's getting to the time where we say good-bye to our winter people, wishing them a safe trip north and a warm welcome when they return in the Fall. Meanwhile, for all who are here, if you look in this month's bulletin on the back cover you will see that we are still an active group with a lot to do. I had an interesting communication a short time ago and it appears here . The writer brings up an issue that we have had before. It puts us in a "catch 22" situation. We WANT younger people to... ...get active in the organization. We want to meet the needs of ALL our people. I certainly hope the writer & a bunch of his younger friends will please come to our next meeting and present their views. (Even if they have to sit though a meeting that doesn't interest them.) Maybe the meeting might not be all that bad for younger people. We have a few younger ones attending but we sure welcome more of you. When we all get right down to the nitty-gritty, the future of Colonial Hills belongs to our younger residents. I was glad to get the communication and I hope that it will be the start of something good.Yours truly spent time this past month in Bayonet Point heat hospital. I guess having good insurance is a blessing. Not only do you get good treatment, but they keep you alive because you're a good "cash cow". Seriously I'm glad to be back active and out of the heart ICU. Good care, good people, good hospital, but there's no place like home! Our bingo has been doing fantastic lately and the monthly card parties have been a success also, but the breakfasts on the first Saturday of the month have not been doing well. I do not know why. A good meal is served and biscuits & gravy is now available as well as pancakes, so come out on April 14 and see what you've been missing. Our Tuesday Pinochle group has been doing well lately with some new people joining us. We are sorry that one of our long time members, Margie Fugunt, passed away on March 6th. She will be missed. The Tuesday Bridge group is looking for more members. If you play either of these games come out on Tuesday & you will be welcomed to either group. The floors in both the main room as well as the East Room have been stripped, scrubbed, and waxed. They look like a million and we hope they stay that way for a long time to come. Hopefully, the roof and air condition will hold up until we can get both replaced. As you know, there is a contribution jar for donations. If you itemize this is a deduction, so ask for a receipt. I plan to be at a lot of our upcoming events and I hope you do as well Don Hayden,Member of the Board of Directors
